Dinner with Holly! (sorry, no pictures)

Holly invited all of us to have dinner with her family tonight. We got there a little later than we had hoped (like usual) but only by about 20 minutes. Tommy had been super busy all day so we just made it in time. We got to her house around 4:30 pm. When we first got there we got introduced to more members of her family. At first Holly's Grandpa, Grandma, mom, dad, both sisters, her nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle and kids, and her younger brother were there. Later her older brother got there too. Tommy right away hit it off with Holly's uncle. They talked about hunting and a bunch of other stuff that I tuned out! They talked so much that I started to wonder if he was even going to eat dinner or not.

The dinner was DELICIOUS!!! Joleen had made a dutch oven dinner. My whole family loved it, except for OF COURSE... TJ. The good news is, is that NOBODY can please TJ's taste buds, so I am hoping that Joleen's feelings weren't hurt. I felt SO terrible and was so embarrassed that he wouldn't eat it. Tyra and Braxton seemed to love it as much as I did though. After that, we had a super yummy chocolate dutch oven cake, which was ALSO delicious! We ate that with ice cream. Joleen had also made everyone a lime slushy. TJ LOVED that! He probably would have drank the whole pitcher if she would have let him. It really was good, but it seemed kind of funny drinking a slushy, while eating ice cream on a really cold autumn day. HA! HA!

After dinner we all wanted to play games. It was SO wonderful, because Holly's uncle Rob kept the kids entertained almost the whole entire time, which was quite a while. The kids got to feed the horses carrots and apples, which they all thought was AWESOME! (And here I was on one of the MOST important days ever and I had forgot my camera. GRRRRR!!!!!) The kids also got pulled around on a sled and played on some scooters. They had so much fun! Braxton even laughed so hard, he actually had an accident in his pants. OOPS! Yet again, I was really embarrassed. But thank goodness, Cylista, Holly's sister, had a little guy about the same size as Braxton and she lent me some of his undies and pants.

While the kids played outside, Joleen and her sister, Holly and her cousin, Grandma dad and both of her sisters, and Tommy and I played "Catch Phrase". We divided up into two teams and played three rounds. It was pretty fun! Then we played "UNO Attack". I can't remember how many times we played that, but even this kids got involved towards the end. They must have gotten too cold outside. Really Tommy and I had so much fun that I think we could have stayed talking there for hours, but it seemed that Holly was getting REALLY tired and I wasn't sure if she was feeling well, so I figured we'd better leave. Plus, the kids got to bed SO late last night because we stayed at Tommy's parents house forever for Thanksgiving that I didn't really want to have them up late again tonight and have to deal with the wrath of tomorrow! Anyway, we really did have a great time. I am so glad the Holly invited us over and that everyone was so good to us while we were there. She really has such a wonderful family!

Holly, we love you so much already. We are SO grateful that you have become a part of our lives and that you are giving us this wonderful gift. I already couldn't imagine my life with out you and your family in it. I am sure we will be together for the eternities to come. Thank you again.

Wishes DO come true!!

11/11.... This is my day to make a wish and my wish has come true. This morning Holly wrote me another email and it said that she'd like me to be in the delivery room with her. YAY!!!!! So, thank you to everyone who prayed for us! There can only be 3 people in there with her, so it will be me and Holly's sister and mom. Tommy won't get to be in there, which in the long run might be okay. I am not sure how he would handle it. When I got pregnant about 12 years ago and was in the emergency room miscarrying the baby, the doctor asked me if I wanted to have a D&C. As soon as he said that, Tommy's face went as white as a ghost and the nurse had to get a chair for him to sit down on. She also got him a cold wash cloth to put on his head. It was so funny! Just the mention of a D&C made him almost pass out.... I can't IMAGINE if he were actually in the delivery room! Anyway, I am so unbelievably excited to be there though. The only thing I am worried about is not being able to make it there for some reason. That would be so devastating to me. So, keep on praying that everything works out the way it is suppose to. I can't hardly wait!!!

Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope, I HOPE!!!

Tonight I got an email from Holly and she said that she is thinking of having me in the delivery room with her when she has her baby. OH MY GOSH!!!! That made me SO excited! She said that she is going to pray about it to decide for sure though. Oh man, I hope so bad that she says I can. I feel like I have been waiting my whole life to be able to experience the moment one of my children comes into this world. This is most likely the last chance I will ever have, so I think it would be SO wonderful. Well, wish me luck, or better yet, pray for me!!!

4D Ultrasound

Today Holly and I went and got a 4D ultrasound done of the baby. It was so cool! We got to see him stick his tongue out and drink. He had his right hand up by his face the whole time, so we weren't able to get a very good picture, but the one's we did get were pretty cute. We also got a DVD of the whole thing. It was fun to watch. I had no idea that our voices were being recorded the whole time though. I wouldn't have talked so much if I would've known that!

After the ultrasound Holly and I went to eat at Arby's. YUM!!! I ate way too much though and still had left overs. Like Tommy always says, when I am hungry my eyes are WAY bigger then my stomach! It was really awesome to spend some time alone with Holly. I got to know a lot more about her. I feel bad though, because I talked most of the time. She probably was going crazy with me. Oops!

Well, it was so unbelievably AWESOME seeing our little guy! We found out even BETTER news too. The ultrasound technician thinks that his due date needs to be changed to December 2nd. I think that is GREAT!!!! That means that he could be here in less then 4 weeks. YAY! These are my two favorite pictures. The technician kept cutting off his nose on accident. Even though his hands were in the way, how cute is that?? I think his little fingers look so sweet!

Can't wait till tomorrow!

So, guess what????? Tomorrow I am going with Holly to her 3D ultrasound. Can I tell you how unbelievably excited I am. It will be the first time we get to meet our little guy. I hope so bad that Tommy will be able to go, but I am not sure if he can. You know guys, he probably figures he will see him when he gets here. But you must also know women, in particular pre-adoptive women who have been waiting over two and a half years for this moment. Needless to say, I am already counting down the hours!

We are meeting tomorrow morning at our HOUSE before we go! AAHHH! This is the scary part. I hope so bad that Holly and her family won't be too judgemental of us. Luckily we did finally get our front patio done, so they won't have to step on a crate to get in our house. But still we have SO far to go to get our house finished that I have to admit, I am feeling very intimidated by the whole situation. I hope they are people who have vision and can picture in their minds what it will look like when it's done!

Oh, I feel so terrible. Holly told me that she had to go to the emergency room the other night. She was eating an apple and swallowed it too soon and it tore her esophagus. I wish so bad there was something I could do for her. She was in SO much pain. She said she is feeling a little better now though, so that is good.

Holly and I have been discussing some names for the baby. We have come up with two that we like but I haven't talked to Tommy about it yet. He is SO picky about names that I just don't dare ask him!!! Actually one of them, he already told me he doesn't like and they are very similar to each other, so I don't know what will happen. Maybe he will come up with some WONDERFUL name before too long. I guess we will see!! Tomorrow isn't coming soon enough!
