Ok, so how sweet is this little guy? I seriously just can't get over it. It is so funny how biased a mother gets with her own children. We all think ours are the cutest!! Yes, I am no different. Besides the fact that, not only is this guy one of the happiest and content little guys, he is also just a plain GOOD baby. Even better is that he is starting to sleep through the nights now! The first time he did, the other night, it was so funny because when he finally woke me up in the morning, I sat straight up and thought, "Oh my gosh! I completely forgot that I had a little baby that would be waking me up." I was so used to getting up every few hours that I guess it just confused my mind a little bit when it didn't happen.
Here are some of the things that Dylan has done this past month:
- He has gone from size Newborn clothes to size 0-3 months
- We can always get him to smile now and he is even trying to giggle!!!
- He got his second foot zone the other day by my teacher, Christa, and it sure has cleaned him out good. (Yes, I am too big of a pansy still to try and foot zone an infant.)
- He has lost almost all of his newborn hair and is growing in new bunch.
- He had his first cold and his little cough was SO sad. But luckily he got through it with flying colors and is now doing great!
- He seems to like his borrowed swing just fine now (Thanks JaNae) so since he really only has a few more months to enjoy it, I am not quite sure if I will spend the money on the wonderful new one.
- He's gone from 4 oz bottles to 6 oz bottles now.
- He does NOT like a lot of noise. He actually failed his 2nd hearing test in his right ear, so he has to go to a specialist now. Whatever though, he can hear fine.
- He so obviously cries for attention now. If you walk off he will start to fuss and then you go back and he immediately stops. Stinker!!! They learn it so young!
- The more tired he gets the more he will squirm and wiggle his arms around. He will squeeze and pinch so hard. We have to hold his hands away from his face or he will hurt himself. So I just wrap him up like a little burrito and give him a binkee and he will go right to sleep.
- He now weighs over 10 lbs.
- If he burps once and I keep patting his back, he will burp again and then get the hiccups... EVERY TIME.
- He does NOT like being messy. Hopefully that is a good sign for when it's time to potty train. (My GREATEST pet peeve.)
- He finally focuses on our faces now. He used to look past our shoulders and smile all the time. My mom said he was smiling at the angels!
On Sunday, January 25th, I was sitting in Relief Society holding Dylan when the teacher said something funny and everyone started to laugh. Dylan got the BIGGEST grin on. It was SO cute!! That was the first time that I finally knew that his smiling wasn't gas. From then on, anytime we wanted him to smile, we would pretend giggle at him. Then when he WOULD smile, it would make us really laugh and he would smile even bigger and try to giggle too. It is the cutest thing I have ever heard. I am hoping to get a video clip of it and post it soon!
Well, our little guy is growing up (and out) so fast. I have completely and thoroughly enjoyed EVERY minute of it. My mom used to say that about me. She knew that I was going to be her last baby so she didn't take for granted any stage I went through. She wanted me to stay a baby for ever. That must be why she still introduces me to people as her BABY! I am just trying to savor EVERY moment with little Dylan. It has been such a wonderful experience already. I am just loving it and Holly is such a good birth mom. We just love her to pieces. Here are some cute pictures I took of Dylan today.

Sigh. It's so nice to have all these things written down...it's gone so fast, and so much of it is forgotten if you don't! I'm so glad you're enjoying your beautiful baby!
